Grohnde is a district of the municipality Emmerthal on the Weser in Lower Saxony.

background

The village of Grohnde on the Weser is particularly interesting for travelers due to its direct location on the Weser and Weser cycle paths, the small Weser ferry, the completely preserved moated castle on the Weser and the Grohnder ferry house on the opposite side of the Weser.

The economic importance of Grohnde, however, makes a completely different building that also towers over the place unmistakably: The Grohnde NPP directly on the Weser, about 2 km north of the village, which has been on the grid since 1985.
