Gueberschwihr, at about 12 km south of Colmar, is a picturesque village, typical of the Alsace wine route, in the heart of the vineyard Alsatian.

Understand

The village of Gueberschwihr is mentioned as such in VIII^e century. Many nobles settled there their residences in XI^e century. A sign of the richness of the land, many orders and religious houses were in possession of it and levied a tithe in wine. But this wealth attracted envy and the village was plundered several times during the wars.
