Travel warningVisa restrictions: Proof of travel to Nagorno-Karabakh can cause problems, if one wishes to visit theAzerbaijan. The Azeri authorities refuse to issue a visa, cancel any Azeri visa obtained previously, and prohibit entry into the country. When one tries to enter Azerbaijan, from this region, one is turned back, expelled, or even arrested.

If necessary, the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities can issue their visa on a separate piece of paper from your passport, although sometimes they forget to do so, even if you have invited them to do so.

The easiest way is to do the reverse circuit, to plan a trip that passes in Azerbaijan before going to Nagorno-Karabakh!
