By train
It is best to take the long-distance train (ICE) to Fulda. From here there is a bus line that goes via Dipperz to Hildes.

On Sundays and public holidays, a leisure bus with a bicycle trailer leaves from May 1st to October 3rd Fulda along the Milseburgradweg to Hilders, then up along that Ulstertal cycle path, up to Wasserkuppe and back down to the train station Gersfeld. · Location plan · RhönRadBus is not running at the moment!
By bicycle
Hilders is on the supraregional Rhön cycle path and on Ulstertal cycle path. From Fulda you can get there via the comfortable Milseburgradweg after Hilders.

- Buchschirmberg with viewing pulpit - Nice view of Hilders and the Wasserkuppe. Incidentally, the lower level of the stone viewing platform serves as a Refuge (Benches and tables are available). In winter, a beautiful high-altitude trail leads from the Rhönwald trail center to the Buchschirmberg.
