On the train

A free wifi internet service is active on the DART trains (you only need to accept the terms and conditions of use: do not download files and do not watch streaming videos).

N.B.: It is important not to confuse the two terminus of the DART: the direct trains to Malahide they will not pass through Howth.

By bus

In Howth the number bus lines end their run 31 and 31B, preferable to the DART if you want to tour the cliffs (you can get off at Howth Summit thus avoiding a bit of a climb). What to do

View from a path of the Howth Cliffs

From Howth it is possible to hike on the cliffs and enjoy exciting views overlooking the sea. The complete walk takes about 2 and a half hours (7 km with an altitude difference of about 140 m), but it is also possible to walk a short distance to be amazed by the cliffs and the birds that live on them. (map)

For lovers of (almost) unspoiled landscapes and nature it is possible to go on excursions on the island Ireland's eye where many species of birds and a colony of seals live. Sightings of seals are also possible from the port of Howth (looking, of course, towards the island).

Shopping

There aren't many shops in Howth: most of them are concentrated near the Parish Church of the Assumption and on the Harbor road (seafront).
