Enderle
The Enderle legend is written in a poem by Joseph Victor von Scheffel described, it goes back to the 16th century. At that time lived Count Palatine Ottheinrich, who, together with his comrades, went on wild hunting expeditions across the Rhine plain, ruthlessly destroying the farmers' fields and forests. After complaints to the Elector Friedrich remained unsuccessful, the mayor Enderle and his people moved in front of the Schwetzunger Schloss to bring his complaints forward. Ottheinrich's hunting companions took revenge by kidnapping and killing Enderle's daughter. The latter, in turn, turned out of grief into the horror of the area and cursed the Count Palatine. You can see this legend in detail every 10 years at the Enderle Festival. However, the last ones were canceled in 2020 due to the corona epidemic.
