Stuttgart Airport is an international airport that is served by numerous airlines. There are both national and international scheduled and charter connections. The majority of connections are within Europe, but there are also some transatlantic flights to and from Stuttgart Airport.
- The airport site affects the communities Stuttgart, Filderstadt and Leinfelden-Echterdingen. The terminals are located on Flughafenstrasse, Leinfelden-Echterdingen
- The Stuttgart S-Bahn 2 and 3 stop at the stops "Oberaichen", "Leinfelden" and "Echterdingen" as well as at the airport. (30 minutes to Stuttgart main station)
- The Stuttgart Stadtbahn, line U5, serves the Unteraichen district and the "Leinfelden Bahnhof" stop, the U3 line stops 2 km away and beyond the A8 motorway in Stuttgart-Plieningen, the U6 line in Stuttgart-Fasanenhof.
- The airport is directly connected to the German and European trunk road network via the A8 motorway with its own exit.

By train
The Stuttgart S-Bahn stops at the following stops: 2 Oberaichen S-Bahn station, 3 Leinfelden S-Bahn station, 4 Echterdingen S-Bahn station and 5 Airport S-Bahn station. They offer direct connections to Stuttgart and after Filderstadt. Other S-Bahn trains stop 2 km from the Oberaichen local border StuttgartPipe, with destination Herrenberg.

- On October 19, 2007, Federal President Horst Köhler had the 806 million euro project New Stuttgart Trade Fair Center inaugurated with 105,200 square meters of hall space. There is a direct connection to the Autobahn 8 and an S-Bahn connection across the street in the airport. Two parking garages span the motorway as bridges, which is unusual and worth seeing. The new ICS International Congress Center Stuttgart, with its total capacity of 9,050 seats, is one of the largest congress centers in Germany.
