Neuffen is a small German town in the Esslingen district in Baden-Wuerttemberg. It is located in the region Swabian Alb.

Neuffen is located at the foot of the Hohenneuffen, where the kettle-shaped Steinach Bay is, and thus on the northern edge of the Swabian Alb.

At the place of today's city was already 100 BC. A Celtic settlement. For today's settlement, however, the construction of Hohenneuffen Castle around 1100 was important. In the valley of this castle of the Lords of Nifen, a settlement developed under their influence. The place is called Neuffen and receives city rights in 1232. In 1303 Liutgard von Nifen sold the city of Neuffen to Württemberg, from the 14th century Neuffen was the seat of the Neuffen office, which existed until 1806. The office then went on in the newly formed Oberamt Nürtingen.

From 1543, Hohenneuffen Castle was expanded into a state fortress. This was partially canceled from 1801.

In 1634 Neuffen was hit by a city fire that destroyed almost the entire city.

On July 1, 1972, the previously independent town of Kappishäuser was incorporated.

Neighboring municipalities are Frickenhausen, Beuren, Erkenbrechtsweiler, Pods, Dettingen, Metzingen and Kohlberg.
