Nickelsdorf is a community in Northern Burgenland. It is mainly because of the Nickelsdorf-Hegyeshalom known. Until the expansion of the Schengen area to Hungary in 2007 - which made border controls obsolete - it was one of the most frequented road border crossings in the world. The open-air rock festival has been held every year in early summer near the village since 2005 Nova Rock instead of.

The nearest airports with scheduled operations are in Bratislava and in Schwechat.
By train
Nickelsdorf is located on the Raaber Ostbahn (railway line Vienna-Budapest). The station is in the northeast of the town on Bahnstrasse.
- Regional and regional express trains from Vienna Central Station to Hegyeshalom or stop in Nickelsdorf Gyor. It can happen that the fastest connection from Vienna requires a train change in Bruck an der Leitha.

- Evangelical parish church. Erected in 1787. Octagonal bell tower with pointed spire erected in 1823.
- Catholic parish church of St. Nicholas. Erected in 1904-05 instead of the previous church from the 17th century; single nave nave with buttresses, east tower, stair tower and retracted choir. The four-bay nave is vaulted with ribs, the gallery has three axes with a parapet in front. The three neo-Gothic carved altars date from the construction period.
- Stürzinger Cross, Untere Hauptstrasse 38. Tabernacle pillars from the end of the 18th century with a small rectangular niche and a slightly protruding stone truncated pyramid helmet with a wrought iron double cross.
- Kleylehof. Former manor from the 17th century a few kilometers south of the village; Used by cultural initiatives from the 1990s to 2015, now a private residence.

- Nova Rock. A large, three-day open-air rock festival has been taking place on the Pannonia Fields southeast of the village since 2005. Around 180,000 visitors come every year in mid-June to attend concerts on three stages. Headliners are often big names like Metallica or Green Day.
