The Danish North Sea Cycle Route is part of the international long-distance cycle route North Sea Cycle Route, a more than 6000 km long cycle path once around the North Sea. It divides into two sections, the Vestkystruten of Rudbøl above Esbjerg, Hanstholm and Hirtshals to Skagen and the Østkystruten described below from Hulsig south of Skagen Frederikshavn to Grenaa. Together, the two routes go around almost the entire length Jutland Peninsula.

Signposting: From Hulsig (south of Skagen) over Frederikshavn to Grenaa follow the also good signs of the Danish national route 5, the Østkystrutenwhich, however, has a larger proportion of paved roads.

- Hulsig - The place south of Skagen is the starting point of the Danish national route 5. Travelers on the Danish national route 1 have a connection here. The Hulsig stop is part of the Danish railway network.

- Grenaa - The Danish part of the North Sea Cycle Route ends in the port city. Travelers wishing to continue the North Sea Cycle Route take the ferry here Varberg in Sweden. There it continues on the route Ginstleden. Otherwise, the Østkystruten take travelers further along the east coast of Jutland.
