The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta has a brick facade and interior with three naves, with paintings depicting one Enthroned Madonna with Child, a Transit of San Giuseppe and the Baptism of Christ. The cathedral also possesses numerous interior decorative elements in red marble of Cottanello such as altars, balustrades, holy water fonts.
The vault of the central nave has a painting on canvas that represents Saint Cajetan of Thiene, a relatively recent work (1931) by the South Tyrolean artist Metello Helzel. The central nave has the presbytery in the background with the main altar on which a painting represents the Madonna Assumed into Heaven by Giovanni Baglione (1566-1643).
