The polar regions

Below the polar regions one means the northernmost part of the world and the southernmost part of the world. Both polar regions are characterized by a lot of snow and ice and extremely low temperatures. The North Pole and the South Pole are literally opposites. But also figuratively, because they are very different from each other. The main difference is that it Arctic consists of the Arctic Ocean that is surrounded by the continents North America, Europe and Asia. The Antarctic, on the other hand, is a continent in itself (Antarctica) which, however, has no permanent residents. But because of that difference, the average temperature is also very different. Because relatively warm water from the Gulf Stream and Siberian rivers flows towards the Arctic, the Arctic is much less cold than the Antarctic.

Both polar regions have many interesting animals and beautiful untouched nature.

Regions

Arctic
Sea surrounded by land. In the Arctic, the average annual temperature is -18°C and there are many animals, both on land and in the sea. The Arctic islands of Iceland, Greenland and Spitsbergen are especially interesting for tourists, but there is beautiful nature throughout the Arctic.
Antarctica
Land surrounded by sea. Antarctica is the coldest continent with the most ice. The average annual temperature is -50°C. Many interesting animals live on the coast, such as whales, seals and penguins, on the rest of the continent there is no life worth mentioning. There is also a lot of untouched nature here.
