Proszowice is a historic city in the voivodeship Lesser Poland on the Mechau plateau. It closes to the northwest Krakow-Czestochowa Jura and northeast that Heiligkreuzgebirge at. The place is best known for its historic old town and the Racławice battlefield. It is on the culture route of the Via Jagiellonica.

The place is not far from the S7 expressway from Kielce to Krakow, about halfway.
