Scheidegg is a city in the westallgäu near the Austrian border. The mountains of the Bregenz Forest with the 1062 m high Pfänder and the high Alps are wonderful to see, but also the mountains of the Swiss Säntis.

Scheidegg is a Kneipp health resort and climatic health resort and, with 3,200 guest beds, is one of the 10 most important tourist locations in the Swabian region. Due to the low fog altitude, Scheidegg has over 2,000 hours of sunshine annually and in 2007 it was “Germany's sunniest place”. The community Scheidegg consists of the places Scheidegg, Scheffau and Lindenau as well as several hamlets and farms.

The place is on the border to Vorarlberg. The neighboring towns Sigmarszell, Opfenbach, Lindenberg and Hamlet-Simmerberg belong to the district of Lindau, Möppers, Langen near Bregenz and Sulzberg lie in Vorarlberg.

The nearest train station is Roethenbach on the route Lindau - Immenstadt - Munich.
A little further lies Hergatz, from where also the regional trains via Wangen in the Allgäu to Aulendorf or Memmingen drive.

Buses run at least every hour via Lindenberg to Röthenbach and Hergatz.
