Strobl is a community in Salzkammergut, she lies on the banks of the Wolfgangsee. Politically, Strobl belongs to the Austrian federal state Salzburg.

The next international Airport is to the west of Salzburg, directly on the A1 (exit 297).
By train
There is no railway line to Strobl or to the entire Wolfgangsee region.

- Boat trip on the Wolfgangsee. Around the Wolfgangsee there are several landing stages where the boats of the Wolfgangsee shipping moor. The old paddle steamer too Emperor Franz Josef is still used occasionally.

- Postalm. Large high plateau, accessible via a toll panoramic road. In summer a good hiking area with a modern sport via ferrata in the Postalmklamm; in the winter Ski resort Postalm Arena.
