Strzyżów is a city in the polish Voivodeship Subcarpathian by doing Strzyżów Mountains in the foothills of the Beskydy Mountains. The city is southeast of Tarnów and is the starting point for hikes.

The place was first mentioned in 1279 and received city rights in 1373. The city was on the trade route from Poland across the Carpathian Mountains to Hungary. With the First Partition of Poland, the city came to the Habsburgs and became Polish again after the First and Second World Wars.
