The Rhein-Mosel transport association (short: VRM) is one of four transport associations in Rhineland-Palatinate.

The VRM is based in Schloßstraße in Koblenz. The area of ​​the VRM includes the city of Koblenz and the districts of Ahrweiler, Altenkirchen (Westerwald), Cochem-Zell, Neuwied, Mayen-Koblenz, Rhein-Lahn, Rhein-Hunsrück and the Westerwaldkreis. The network borders in the north on the North Rhine-Westphalian transport associations Rhein-Sieg (VRS) and the Westphalian tariff, in the east on the Rhein-Main transport association (RMV), in the south to the Rhein-Nahe-Nahverkehrsverbund (RNN) and in the west to the Verkehrsverbund Regio Trier (VRT). VRM was founded on January 1st, 1996, but the tariff has only been in effect in the Altenkirchen district since 2009 and in the Westerwaldkreis since 2017.

Rates

The area of ​​the VRM is divided into tariff cells. The price depends on the number of honeycombs passing through.

  • Single tickets, day tickets, 3-day tickets and mini-group tickets for a maximum of five people are available as day tickets or 3-day tickets. In the area of ​​season tickets, there are weekly tickets, monthly tickets, 9 a.m. monthly tickets and monthly and 9 a.m. monthly tickets by subscription. Reduced single tickets are valid for children between the ages of 6 and 14 and as a supplement to the use of 1st class compartments on local trains or when taking dogs with you.
  • The Bahncards 25, 50 and 100 result in a discount of 25% on single tickets of all price levels in the VRM area, the Bahncard 100 entitles you to free use of local trains in the VRM.
  • The transport association offers its own discount card, the VRM Mobilcard, which enables a 20% discount on single tickets.
  • The Rhineland-Palatinate Ticket is valid on all means of transport, the Quer-Durch-Land-Ticket is valid for local rail transport.

In the districts of Ahrweiler, Altenkirchen and Neuwied, the tariff applies Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg as a transitional tariff in rail transport. On the victory route (RE9 and RB 90) the Westphalian tariff applies as a transitional tariff up to Wissen (Sieg). For this reason, in some of the districts mentioned, there are validators at the stations and on the trains, although the VRM does not offer tickets that are subject to validation.
