The Westerwaldbahn GmbH is a rail and bus transport company based in Rhineland-Palatinate Steinebach-Bindweide.
Freight transport
The Westerwaldbahn GmbH runs regularly on the railway line of the same name Westerwaldbahn, which from Scheuerfeld at the victory runs via Steinebach-Bindweide to Emmerzhausen as well as the Holzbachtalbahn, which from Siershahn via Selters (Westerwald) to Altenkirchen runs. Both routes are currently only used for freight traffic; previously, SPNV also took place on these routes. After both railway lines were initially completely shut down, the Westerwald Railway was reactivated and in 2005 the Holzbachtal Railway was also reactivated. The Zweckverband Schinenenpersonennahverkehr Rheinland-Pfalz Nord (SPNV Nord) is interested in reactivating both lines for local rail transport.

Two modernized and barrier-free GTW railcars will be used, which will replace the older vehicles of the DB class 628 at the 2016 timetable change. The vehicles do not have ticket machines. Tickets can be purchased from the driver as well as at the DB ticket machines and at the DB travel center at Betzdorf station; all tickets for the Westerwaldbahn trains are also sold in the Westerwaldbahn GmbH travel centers in the stations Wissen and Au (victory) sold.
Trains also run from Betzdorf (Sieg) station RE 9 (Aachen - Düren - Cologne - Siegburg / Bonn - Au (Sieg) - Wins) the DB Regio as well as the lines RB 90Limburg (Lahn) - Diez Ost - Westerburg - Hachenburg - Altenkirchen - Au (Sieg) - Knowledge - Siegen), RB 93 (Betzdorf - Churches (Sieg) - Siegen - Bad Berleburg) and RB 96 (Betzdorf - Herdorf - Haiger - Dillenburg) of the Hessische Landesbahn, branch of operation Dreiländerbahn.

Rates
Since the Daadetalbahn runs in the Altenkirchen district, the tariff applies Rhein-Mosel Transport Association (VRM), tickets for the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Sieg (VRS), if the start / destination station is in the VRS area, valid as a transitional tariff, the same applies to tickets for the Verkehrsgemeinschaft Westfalen-Süd at the start / destination station in the area of the VGWS. Westerwaldbahn GmbH is a member of Tariff Association of Federal and Non-Federal Railways in Germany (TBNE). These are also valid on the Daadetalbahn trains Rhineland-Palatinate ticket and the Rhineland-Palatinate Ticket Luxembug, the Nice day NRW ticket and the Schöne Fahrt NRW ticket as well as that Across the country ticket.
On the buses of the Westerwaldbahn, the tariffs of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Mosel (VRM) apply to trips in the district of Altenkirchen, the district of Neuwied and the Westerwaldkreis.
Tickets
Tickets for the trains and buses of the Westerwaldbahn are available from the following sales channels:
- In the travel centers of the Westerwaldbahn in the stations of Wissen (Sieg) and Au (Sieg)
- On the trains and buses with the drivers
- At all sales points for VRM tickets, also at ticket machines in train stations of other transport companies in the VRM area.
- VRM subscription season tickets after a subscription has been ordered in writing to the Westerwaldbahn, the order form can be handed in at the travel centers and with the drivers or submitted by post.
- State tickets for Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia as well as the Quer -übers-Land-Ticket can also be purchased at the ticket machines of other transport companies in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia.
Multipurpose compartment
All vehicles have a multi-purpose compartment in which the transport of bicycles, strollers, wheelchairs and luggage is possible. The Westerwaldbahn GmbH trains Bicycle transport from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. until closing time and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays free of charge. You can take your bike with you from Monday to Friday before 9 a.m., but a bike card is required (VRM bike map, Price: 2.80 €, valid throughout the network, DB bicycle day pass for local transport, Price € 5.50, valid throughout Germany or Bicycle ticket NRW, Price: € 4.80, valid in the Altenkirchen district and in North Rhine-Westphalia). It should be noted that the bike card must correspond to the tariff of the bike owner's ticket. For reasons of capacity, bicycle trailers, tandems and bicycles with motorized equipment (e-bikes) are not allowed. Strollers, wheelchairs and luggage can be carried free of charge all day in the multi-purpose compartment, and there is one at Betzdorf (Sieg) train station Bike-and-ride facility.
