background
On ferries, booking a crossing is possible both as passenger transport and for people with vehicle transport. Many ferry companies offer combination tickets for passenger and vehicle transport. Even if the journey times of the ferry connections are significantly longer than the duration of flights along the same routes, it should be noted that the ferries offer a significantly better quality of travel. In addition to sufficient space on board and the opportunity to go out into the fresh air at any time, many ferries have a bar and catering area and some have fitness rooms, saunas and swimming pools. On long journeys, there is either the option of renting a cabin equipped with beds, tables, chairs and cupboards, or, on short journeys, of only renting seats. On the German Baltic coast there is one of the international ferry terminals, the Scandinavienkai in Lübeck-Travemünde, the Norway quay, Schwedenkai and Ostuferhafen in Kiel as well as the ferry port in Rostock Connection to international ferry lines.
