The Norway quay, the Schwedenkai and the Ostuferhafen are, along with Travemünde and Rostock, the most important ferry terminals in Germany, from here there are connections to Norway, Sweden and the Baltic States. The terminals are used for passenger and vehicle transport as well as freight traffic. In addition to international ferry lines, some of them are also called by cruise ships. Other parts of the port in Kiel are the Ostseekai, the Satorikai, the Scheerhafen and the Nordhafen.

Since the 3 terminals are not directly connected to each other, they must be treated differently in the following sections.

Kiel is about that A215, the A210 and the A21/B404 connected to the motorway network. The journey to the 3 terminals differs somewhat.

  • Of the A24 (Coming from Berlin) we recommend using the A21 from Schwarzenbek to bypass Hamburg and the congestion-endangered Elbe tunnel. The last kilometers are on the very well developed B404 to the end at Kiel-Barkauer-Kreuz. If you keep to the right and turn left after the railroad tracks under the Hochstraße, you will get to the Schwedenkai via Bahnhofstraße or to the Norwegkai via Sörensenstraße or further to the Ostuferhafen.
  • From the direction of Denmark you use the from Rendsburg A210, the last few kilometers on the A215 until the end of the autobahn.
  • Coming from the south you leave it A7 at the triangle Symbol: KN 12 Bordesholm and uses the A215 until the end of the autobahn.
From the end of the A215 you get straight over the Schützenwall to the Schwedenkai. Travelers to the Norwegenkai or the Ostuferhafen should keep to the right on the B76. After the Kiel-Barkauer-Kreuz keep right and after the railroad tracks turn left under the Hochstraße, over the Sörensenstraße to the Norwegenkai or further to the Ostuferhafen.

Park

Symbol: park: Parking is possible in various parking lots and parking garages at all three terminals. There are both permanent parking spaces and parking spaces for travelers who do not take their vehicle with them, as well as "kiss-and-ride" parking spaces. Except for the parking spaces of the Port of Kiel Various parking spaces from other operators are available.
