Info

The Flemish Ardennes is a tourist region located in the south-east of Flanders. It includes the hilly landscape area around Oudenaarde, Ronse, Geraardsbergen and Zottegem. The Flemish Ardennes has 17 cities and municipalities.

The landscape is characterized by sunken roads, cobblestones, floating curves, expansive vistas, knot rows and meandering streams. This makes it one of Flanders' most beautiful landscapes. It was writer-traveler Omer Wattez who coined the name 'Vlaamsche Ardennes' at the end of the 19th century.
