Zabrze(German: from 1915 to 1945 Hindenburg O.S.) is a big city in the polish Voivodeship Silesia at the Klodnitz and the Beuthener Wasser in the Upper Silesian industrial area GOP on the Silesian plateau. The city is in the historical Upper Silesia.

By train

Of Vienna there is a direct Eurocity connection (4½ hours) With the Euronight you can reach Zabrze without changing trains Berlin. Coming from Dresden, you drive via Breslau (6 hours in total)

By bus

Intercity buses run regularly to Katowice and long-distance buses to other cities in the region.

In the street

The road network is well developed.

The A4 runs from Germany and also from Poland Autostrada A4 means to the limit. You can then leave the motorway at the Zabrze exit. The city is just north of the motorway.

Alternatively, from southern Germany and Switzerland you can use Prague drive.

From Austria you drive over Brno and then from the Polish-Czech border the Autostrada A1.

Zabrze is located on the Technical Monuments Route in the Silesian Voivodeship. These include the Coal Mining Museum, the Guido Mining Museum, the Queen Luise Open-Air Mining Museum and the Maciej Shaft.
