Železná Ruda (pronunciation, schÄllassnaa ruthere, "Iron ore", spoken: , IPA: [ˈʒɛlɛznaː ˈrʊda]) is a winter sports resort that is just as suitable for a visit in the snowless times. In addition, the costs are lower than in the German winter sports resorts.

background

in the Bohemian forest There are not only deep forests, moors, swamps, torrents and waterfalls, but also dreamy lakes, steep mountain slopes and plateaus. All of these areas are connected to one another by a network of hiking trails that are passable both in summer and partly in winter. The place is right on the border with Germany, 3.6 kilometers (2¼ mile) from Bavarian Eisenstein away.

history

At the beginning of the 16th century, after especially on the Špičák (German: Spitzberg) deposits of iron ore were discovered, originated in the valley of the Big rain, Eisenstein as a settlement for miners. At the beginning of the 17th century, the ore deposits were exhausted and the mining of iron ore was no longer worthwhile. In 1624, Eisenstein was granted market rights and was henceforth allowed to call itself Markt Eisenstein. Over time, they emerged in Markt Eisenstein into the 19th century and the surrounding area numerous glassworks. From 1938 to 1945 Markt Eisenstein belonged to the district of Markt Eisenstein im Administrative region of Lower Bavaria and Upper PalatinateIn 1945 the German residents were due to the Beneš decrees expelled from Czechoslovakia. At the end of the 19th century, tourism took off as a new source of income in Železná Ruda.
