Baden-Württemberg is a federal state (subnational region) of Germany. The capital of the country is Stuttgart.

Curiosities
Famous sights are Heidelberg,Baden-Baden the black forest and the bodenlago (also known as "Lake Constance"). The region is also known for the Swabian-German carnival.
To be transported
Outside the cities there are sometimes buses that only run after a telephone order, so-called "Rufbusse". This means that one cannot trust the plans but one sometimes has to order the bus one hour before the trip.
Communicate
The local Swabian-German dialect is sometimes difficult to understand even for Germans, but communicating in German although works well even in small villages. Communicating in English is possible almost everywhere, French is also widely known, especially in the border regions.
Esperanto
There are many Esperanto groups throughout Baden-Württemberg and there is also a regional association called BAVELO (BAden-Württemberg Esperanto League)[1].
