The 1 Buchs train station is a border station. All trains from stop here Chur above St. Margrethen to St. Gallen as well as the international trains Austria to Switzerland. There are every two hours Railjet-Direct connections and additional transfer connections Vienna – St. Polten – Linz – Salzburg – innsbruck – Feldkirch - Buchs SG - Sargans – Zurich as EuroCity-Direct connections Graz – Zurich. At the station Feldkirch there is a possibility to change to Buchs SG from direction Bregenz and Lindau as well as from direction Bludenz.
With Sargans and Altstätten SG there is a regional train connection at least every hour. With the Austrian Feldkirch Buchs SG is currently only using regional trains during commuter times via the stops in Liechtenstein Schaan-Vaduz, Forst Hilti, Nendeln and Schaanwald connected; on this railway line is in the course of the Local transport project S-Bahn-Liechtenstein an expansion of the tracks to double lanes is planned in order to be able to introduce a general 30-minute interval.
