Careno is a village of the Lombardy.

Geographical notes
It is a fraction of the municipality of Link, located between the municipal seat and the neighboring municipality of Pognana: a handful of houses arranged in an inverted triangle, which can be traveled on foot, among stone houses that speak of an ancient past and the existence of the Moltrasina stone quarries, its stonecutters, and its narrow streets that lead to the 300 steps that end to the marina on the lake.

- Mountains of Careno. From Careno, with a steep stairway road, you reach the locality of Monti di Careno, lying halfway up the slope on the slopes of Mount Preaola. There are wonderful views and old farmhouses recently renovated, but which have retained all their historical flavor. About twenty minutes by road on this hamlet is the Masera cave, 400 m long in which there is also a large room with ammonite footprints. Inside the cave there are ponds, siphons, waterfalls and a development of tunnels. It is connected to the underground water system of Pian Tivano and the Palanzone and Preaola mountains.
