Castelluccio of Noto is an archaeological site of the Sicily.

This archaeological site dated between the 19th and 15th centuries BC. it is important because it gave its name to Culture of Castelluccio widespread in many prehistoric sites of the Southeastern Sicily.
Background
The site was discovered and studied by the archaeologist Paolo Orsi whose discoveries of artifacts and jewels are now preserved at the Archaeological Museum of Syracuse.

The site can only be reached by car. From Palazzolo Acreide take the towards Rigolizia and then take the junction for Castelluccio along the . From Known after the locality Testa dell'Acqua, turn at the same junction (but from the opposite direction) towards Castelluccio along the .

The site is free to use. However, some areas may be closed by a fence as an object of archaeological excavation (albeit abandoned).
How to get around
Leave the car on the side of the road in the first clearing and continue exclusively on foot.
What see
The site is not easily legible due to the conformation of the terrain, the smallness of the traces and the presence of high vegetation. There are remains of ancient prehistoric houses, the traces of a medieval castle
- 1 Necropolis. It is located on a slope of Cava della Signora not far from the site itself.
- 2 Tomb of the prince. It is one of the most prominent tombs of the site, it was excavated by Paolo Orsi and had the typical closing door with spiral motifs representing the sexual act. One of the doors is now visible at the Archaeological Museum of Syracuse.
- 3 Cave of the Saints. This cave (unfortunately closed by a gate) is from the Byzantine era and inside there are splendid frescoes dating back to between the eighth and fifteenth centuries.
- 4 Heroon.

The site is suitable for a naturalistic excursion as well as for admiring the sunset.
