The same is a small town in the south Lower Saxony.

Dassel is among other things due to the quiet location on the northern edge of the Solling and the multitude of well-preserved half-timbered houses in the city center.
The place is one of the earliest foundations in the region. Sections of the city wall have been preserved from the time it was granted city rights in 1315.
