The Ostseebad Dierhagen is a community in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is located at the entrance to the peninsula Fischland-Darß-Zingst.
background
The municipality of Dierhagen lies at the beginning of the narrow land area between the Baltic Sea in the west and the Saaler Bodden in the east. The long, narrow peninsula closes to the north of the municipality Fischland-Darß-Zingst at. The community consists of the localities Diershagen Dorf, Dändorf and Hof Körkwirtz (from north to south), which lie on the Saaler Bodden, and the localities Dierhagen Ost, Dierhagen Strand and Neuhaus (from north to south), which lie on the Baltic Sea coast.

By plane
In Rostock-Laage there is a regional airport that also offers scheduled flights. Furthermore, private sport planes can use the regional airport in Barth.
By train
Regional or intercity trains from Berlin via Stralsund or off Hamburg via Rostock to the train station Ribnitz-Damgarten. During the day there are regular buses every hour from the station forecourt Barth across the peninsula Fischland-Darß-Zingst.
By bus
Regular buses run every hour from Ribnitz-Damgarten and Barth. Some buses carry bicycle trailers from May to October according to the schedule.

In addition to the Rostock seaport at the end of the A 19 with numerous ferry lines, especially after Sweden there are many harbors and moorings around the Bodden waters.

The townscape is characterized by brick buildings and small houses with the typical thatched roofs embedded in numerous stunted pines and sea buckthorns.
1 Brick church Dierhagen village The simple brick church from the middle of the 19th century houses the model ship "Frigatte von Dierhagen 1799", which seafarers donated to the town.
The 2 historic village street Dändorf still reminds today that Dändorf was at times considered the wealthiest village in Mecklenburg in the 19th century. The seafaring town, characterized by captains' and fishermen's houses, benefited for a long time from the salt transports through the region.
The 3 coffee grinder at Strandübergang 12 in Dierhagen Strand owes its name to the original top of a tower room from which one has a wonderful view of the lake, while the rest of the house is flat under the protection of the dune.
4 Remains of the Janne wreck on the beach in Dierhagen at low tide you can still see the last remains of the wreck. It was a Finnish three-masted schooner that ran aground in a storm in 1930 and could not be made afloat again.
Dierhagen has two harbors, which are located on the Bodden side of the village (see Arrival information by ship).
