Baroque Seusslitz Castle
House in the Luisenburg vineyard

The Baroque castle in Seusslitz was built in 1726 on the site of a Karissinnen monastery founded in the 13th century. The design for the renovation comes from George Bähr, the builder of the Dresden Frauenkirche. The associated palace garden is designed in the French and English styles. To the right above the castle is the "Heinrichsburg", a two-storey garden house, and to the left above, in the middle of the vineyard, the baroque winegrower's house "Luisenburg". • Circular hike (7 km): Starting at the Baroque Seusslitz Castle, walk up the street to the right and shortly afterwards up the stone steps over the Heinrichsburg until you reach a gate to a larger winery. The hike then leads straight through the winery to Goldkuppe, the largest Bronze Age ramparts in Saxony, then over the Radewitz farm and then over a field path to the Laubach – Löbsal road. Turn right into this street and cross Löbsal. Where the road bends sharply to the left, there is the signpost “To the beautiful view”. Follow the narrow forest path to the "beautiful view" and there descend the wooden and partly stone steps!
