Elsfleth is a city in the Wesermarsch in Lower Saxony. It is located on the Hunte just before it flows into the Weser. The closest localities are Brake, Bremen and Oldenburg.

Elsfleth is one of the oldest documented places on the Lower Weser. The city is mentioned on documents and documents dated around 1220. In 1350 Elsfleth became part of the County of Oldenburg, later the Duchy or Grand Duchy of Oldenburg. In 1856 it received city rights.
