Direct ferry routes to Africa there is practically none. You can change trains in Marseille, or (very complicated) via Sardinia and Trapani. It sees you in a similar way Spain from, there are opportunities to go via Genoa.

- Bastia, travel time 10-12h, all year round, 3-7 / week, from La Méridionale
- Ile Rousse, travel time 11-12h, all year round, 3 / week,

- Propriano, travel time 12-13h, all year round, 3-4 / week, from La Méridionale (this route also only runs June-August, 2 / week)

The last accident occurred in the early 1990s on a Moby Lines ship. There have been no major accidents since then. From time to time there is news that passengers are going overboard, but this is mostly due to their blood alcohol content.
