Fürstenberg (Weser) is a community in Weser Uplands. The porcelain manufactory is well known. Fürstenberg is allowed to bear the title "State-approved excursion destination".

getting there
By plane
The nearest airports are Paderborn / Lippstadt (80 km away) and Hanover (120 km).
By train
Fürstenberg itself has no rail connection. The nearest train stations are Höxter Rathaus (6 km northwest) Lüchtringen (8 km north; both on the Paderborn – Holzminden – Kreiensen RB line) and Lauenförde-Beverungen (10 km south; RB Paderborn – Göttingen). From there you can take the bus to Fürstenberg.
Wehrden train station is even closer (3.5 km from Fürstenberg; RB Paderborn – Göttingen), but the Weser ferry from Wehrden to Fürstenberg can only be used by pedestrians and cyclists.
By bus
Bus route 554 of the RBB runs Mon-Fri seven times a day from Holzminden and Lüchtringen in one direction and Beverungen and Lauenförde in the other direction to Fürstenberg, on Saturdays there are two regular taxis a day (Timetable). The journey from Holzminden takes approx. 25 minutes, from Lüchtringen 12 minutes, from Beverungen 22 minutes, from Lauenförde 17 minutes.
In the street
Fürstenberg is on a country road between Holzminden (there is a connection to the B 64 Seesen – Höxter) and Lauenförde (connection to the B 241 Warburg – Uslar). Across from Fürstenberg, on the other side of the Weser, runs the B 83 (Kassel – Höxter). The closest Weser crossings are in Höxter in the north and Beverungen / Lauenförde in the south.
By boat
- Passenger shipping on the Weser between Fürstenberg and Corvey or Bad Karlshafen.
- Water hikers on the Weser find a floating jetty in Fürstenberg as a mooring option. Warning: strong currents (depending on the water level)!
By bicycle
- Weser cycle path - the official Weser cycle path runs on the other side of the river. You can take the passenger ferry between Wehrden and Meinbrexen (2.5 km south of Fürstenberg; only in the summer half-year from Good Friday to October 3rd). On the river side of Fürstenberg there is also a signposted variant.

- lock. The castle is located high above the Weser. From up here you have a beautiful view over the Weser valley. The Fürstenberg porcelain factory and the porcelain museum are located in the castle.
