Beverungen is a city on the Weser in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Beverungen is located in the triangle of North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse and Lower Saxony and forms the easternmost tip of the Ostwestfalen-Lippe region. The core city at the confluence of the Bever into the Weser was first mentioned in a document in the 9th century. From 1147 the arable town - most of its inhabitants farmed - had city rights.
Today Beverungen is the center and supply center of 11 incorporated villages around Bever, Weser and Nethegau: Amelunxen, Blankenau, Dalhausen, Drenke, Haarbrück, Manufacture, Jakobsberg, Rothe, Tietelsen, Wehrden and Würgassen.

By plane
The Paderborn Lippstadt Airport
(IATA: PAD) is the closest airport, but has only a few scheduled connections. There is more choice on Hanover Airport(IATA: HAJ), about 120 km and airport Frankfurt(IATA: FRA).
By train
The rail connection for Beverungen is in Lower Saxony, on the other side of the Weser Lauenförde, but is called Lauenförde-Beverungen. Hourly connections on the route called Sollingbahn from Ottbergen to Bodenfelde, in Ottbergen there are connections to the direction Paderborn, in the direction of Bodenfelde Goettingen and Northeim.
From 1 Lauenförde it is about a 2 km walk over the Weser bridge to Beverungen. The bus route 554 (see below) connects the train station with the center of Beverungen.

2 ZOB The central bus station (ZOB) is located directly on the Weser between the castle and the town hall.
Bus connections of the Local transport association Höxters drive to Beverungen on the following lines, among others:
- with line 220 between Höxter and Bad Karlshafen
- with line 554 between Holzminden and Beverungen
In the street
Holzminden is relatively equidistant from the four motorways A2 in the north (exit Rinteln, approx. 80 km), A7 in the east (exit Nörten-Hardenberg, approx. 50 km), A44 in the south (exit Warburg, approx. 35 km) and A33 in the west (Paderborn, approx. 60 km).
By boat
Water hikers on the Weser find good rest and overnight opportunities in Beverungen, especially at the boathouse of the resident located a little south of the village on the western bank of the river WSV Beverungen.
By bicycle
Beverungen lies on the western side of the Weser cycle path. Coming from the south you cycle 51 km from Hann. Münden here, coming from the north it is 37 km from Holzminden.

Museums
- 6 Basket maker museum in the district of Dalhausen (about 8 km southwest of the city center). Dalhausen will be a nice destination for a short bike tour from spring 2013. Then the new avenue cycle path will be inaugurated on the former railway line. the 2.8 m wide route will be expanded with a fine asphalt surface.
