Gerlos

Gerlos is a mountain village in Gerlostal between Kitzbühel and Zillertal Alps in North Tyrol. The place is a tourist center for alpine winter sports and in summer the starting point for tours in the surrounding mountains.

getting there

By plane

The next international airport is in Innsbruck (approx. 75 km). Other airports that can be reached are the one in Salzburg (approx. 180 km) and the airport Munich - Franz Josef Strauss (approx. 200 km);

By train

Of Jenbach on the Unterinntalbahn (route Kufstein - innsbruck) with the Zillertalbahn to Zell am Ziller, continue with the bus in the Gerlostal to Gerlos.

In the street

  • Of east out Mittersill on the federal highway B168 into the Gerlostal to Gerlos. The route over the Gerlos Pass is subject to a toll (approx. € 10).

  • The local ski area is the Zillertal Arena, the largest ski area in the Zillertal; Valley locations: Zell, Gerlos, Krimml, Wald-Königsleiten; 30 huts and snow bars;
Height 630 - 2 500m; 50 lifts; 163 km of slopes;
  • Other areas are in the Zillertal Put - Spieljoch, Hochzillertal and Hochfügen and of course in the Tuxertal the ski association Zillertal 3000 with the Hintertux glacier ski area.
