Pass Thurn
The Thurn Pass (1,274 m, 47 ° 18 '32 "N.12 ° 24 '30 "E) is the little pronounced but busy Alpine pass in the main traffic connection of the Austrian federal road B161 (Pass-Thurn Straße) from Tyrol to Salzburg and part of the Felbertauern route from the north. The pass is also the border between the Austrian federal states Tyrol and Salzburg.
The next bigger places are Kitzbühel (762 m) around 19 kilometers away in the north and Mittersill (790 m) about 11 kilometers away in the southeast of the pass. The entire route is well developed with three lanes, on the access ramp from Mittersill it has its greatest gradients of up to 8%, but overall it is rather "gentle".
At Pass Thurn there is the Pass Thurn ski area, on the pass road south and about a good kilometer below the pass is the hamlet of Pass Thurn with accommodation.
