The Goplosee (Polish: Gopło) is a lake on the Gnesen Lake District in the polish Voivodships Kuyavian Pomeranian and Greater Poland in the historical region Kuyavia. The lake is the largest natural body of water in the voivodeship. The old city lies on the lake Kruszwica with the brick Gothic keep, around which the legends of Popiel and Piast wrestled. The Goplanen, one of the founding tribes of the Poles, settled on the lake in the early Middle Ages.
