Havelberg is a lovely small town in Saxony-Anhalt. The cathedral city lies at the confluence of the Havel into the Elbe. In terms of tourism, Havelberg has gained in importance in recent years. Cycling and water tourism in particular have become important pillars of the local economy.

By plane
The nearest airports are Berlin Brandenburg Airport(IATA: BER) as Hamburg Airport
(IATA: HAM).
By train
There is no longer a rail connection, but buses run from the Glöwen stop on the Berlin-Hamburg railway into the city. In Bells RegionalExpress trains on the route (Wismar–)Wittenberg–Berlin–Ludwigsfelde.
There are also regular bus connections Stendal (with connection off Braunschweig and Magdeburg).
By car
You can reach Havelberg via the B 107 from Pritzwalk to Genthin. Other important roads lead from Pearl Mountain above Bad Wilsnack and from Friesack (B 5 from Berlin) over Rhinow to Havelberg.
By bicycle

Are worth seeing Dom, the former monastery buildings at the cathedral as well as the 1 Market square with town hall (late classical building) and old houses from the 17th - 18th centuries. .
- 2 St. Mary's Cathedral, Domplatz 3, (access via the Prignitz Museum). The Havelberger Dom is elevated on a terminal moraine. It is a three-aisled brick basilica with ribbed vaults from the late 13th century. A monumental west block made of field stone masonry comes from the Romanesque predecessor building of the 12th century.
- 3 St. Laurentius (Havelberg). Brick Gothic hall church with a modified baroque organ.
- 4 Prignitz Museum, Cathedral Square 3. Tel.: 49 (0)39387 21422, Fax: (0)39387 88778. The buildings of this Premonstratensian canon monastery date from the 12th to 13th centuries. The inner courtyard with its cloister is well worth seeing.
