Hofheim am Taunus is the county seat of the Main-Taunus-Kreis in Vordertaunus in South Hesse. It lies between Wiesbaden and Frankfurt am Main in the heart of the Rhine-Main area and on the southern edge of the Taunus.

Hofheim station is served by the S 2 the Rhein-Main S-Bahn, which runs from Niedernhausen via Hofheim, Frankfurt-Höchst, Frankfurt Central Station and Offenbach to Dietzenbach and through the lines RB 20 and RE 20which of Limburg run via Bad Camberg, Niedernhausen, Hofheim and Frankfurt-Höchst to Frankfurt Hbf.

In the street
Hofheim's city center is approx. 10 minutes away from the Wiesbadener Kreuz A3 / A66 and is therefore very easy to reach. Coming from Frankfurt am Main, take the exit "Hofheim Nord" number 14, from the direction of Wiesbaden it is best to take exit 11 from the A66 and follow the signs. Coming from the A3, keep to the right at Wiesbadener Kreuz (exit 47) towards Frankfurt on the A66 and after three kilometers take exit 11. If you want to continue straight to Langenhain, Lorsbach or Wildsachsen, take the A66 is best to take exit 12 (Hattersheim, Kriftel, Hofheim).

- The Catholic parish church of St. Peter and Paul with a beautiful double onion tower is very centrally located, right next to the pedestrian zone in the city center.
Buildings
- The old town hall in the pedestrian zone is a beautiful building, originally built in 1529, which is often used as a symbol for the city.
- East of downtown, between city Museum and Chinon Center, is the cellar building with attached witch tower, which previously served as a city prison. The building was recently renovated.
- The old Hofheimer moated castle directly southwest on Cellar space, has been uncovered and renovated for a year and will serve as a location for cultural events in the future.

- The pedestrian zone (also called the "main street") stretches over 500 m from the Alte Bleiche (from the train station / bus station, it is best to go west through the Rudolf Mohr facility and then across the street) to the B519.
