Inline skating has developed into a popular recreational sport alongside cycling in recent years. This overview lists some great routes for skating in Germany.

The Ruhr-In-Line is a circular route around the Kemnader lakethat was built only for inline skaters. Walkways and bike paths run parallel to this.
Cycle routes that are suitable for inline skiers are listed here. They usually have a fine asphalt surface and only moderate gradients. Many of the routes are former railway lines. (see also: Railway cycle paths)

- Bocklweg in the Upper Palatinate on the border with the Czech Republic
- Flaming skate in Brandenburg south of Berlin. A completely new regional network of paths with a width of 3 m and a length of over 100 km has been created for inline skiers.
- Kegelspielradweg in the Rhön
- Maare-Moselle cycle path in the Eifel
- Milseburgradweg in the Rhön
- RadBahn Münsterland
- Volcano bike path in the Vogelsberg north of Frankfurt am Main
- Weser cycle path between Beverungen and Holzminden (approx. 25 km easy, beautiful route directly on the river)
