Kirchberg an der Jagst is a city in Jagsttal in the Hohenloher level.
background
Halfway between Schwäbisch Hall and Rothenburg ob der Tauber is Kirchberg an der Jagst. In 1373, Emperor Karl IV gave the Hohenlohern permission to build the town and castle of Kirchberg to secure the river crossing. The Sulz castle on the other side was destroyed in the peasant wars.
Gaggstadt, Hornberg and Lendsiedel as well as other towns and hamlets also belong to Kirchberg.
