Langenburg is a climatic health resort in the Hohenloher level and lies on a ridge above the Chasing.

The place was founded on the ridge on a Jagstschleife. A first documentary mention comes from the year 1226. Only a few decades later, the place came into the possession of the Lords of Hohenlohe. From 1568 on, Langenburg was the seat of the county or the principality of Hohenlohe-Langenburg. Today the city belongs to the district "Schwäbisch-Hall".
