By car

FromEngland: from M6 take the M56 towards Chester, in North Wales. At the end of the M56 take the M53 in the direction ofA55. There M53 it will enter on A55, stay on this until you see the signs for the A470. At this point follow the signs for Llandudno.

LLandudno has its own railway station connected to all major cities of the UK:

What to do

The Grand
  • Take a ride on the Traditional Tram. Built in 1902, it leads to the Great Orme. Visit the visitor center at Randolf Turpin's in Summit Complex.
  • To do walks on the Great Orme, perhaps by visiting the church of Saint Tudno [3].
  • Walking, cycling or driving in the Marine Drive. There is a 2.5 pound toll for cars, but it also includes the price of the parking at the top, which can be reached via the church of Saint Tudno. The toll is generally not paid after 7pm.
  • Take the cable car (cable car) from Happy Valley at the top of the Great Orme.
  • Walk into the Happy Valley and inHaulfre Gardens enjoying the amazing views.

Night clubs

Although not on par with other cities of the Wales, Llandudno has a vibrant nightlife with numerous bars and clubs. The nightlife becomes more crowded in the summer when the citizens of the town are joined by tourists, but throughout the year it is possible to spend a nice night out.

The busiest days are obviously Fridays and Saturdays, but also Wednesdays when many mightclubs offer reduced admission prices. The trendiest clubs can be found on Mostyn Street.

  • Venue Cymru. In a modern building on the waterfront, it has a stage for musical performances and a theater for major shows. When planning your visit, remember to check what's on in this pub to be able to choose the evening that best suits your tastes.
  • Fountains. Popular bar with a multitude of drinks on the menu. Quieter atmosphere in the raised section, live DJ on the ground floor.
  • The Fat Cat. Great food and cocktails.
  • Club 147. Very popular on Friday and Saturday nights when club 147 is transformed into a real night club. The venue also shows football and rugby matches, attention: the team cheering here is the Wales and not theEngland.
  • The Palladium, 7 Gloddaeth Street, 44 01492 863920. Simple icon time.svgMonday to Sunday from 8.00 to 23.00. This pub can be considered the flagship of the chain J.D. Wetherspoon chainVery busy on weekends, it is known by locals as Wethers.
  • The Cottage Loaf. A key point of Llandudno's nightlife for decades, the Loaf it is located behind the secondary entrance of the Palladium. In the pub you can enjoy local beer, listen to live music and breathe a great atmosphere!
  • The King's Head (Located next to the tram station). It offers a wide range of drinks and live music. Popular with both young people and older people. During the summer it organizes outdoor concerts.

Llandudno has a night club located approximately one mile from the city center.

  • Broadway Boulevard. Very popular with the locals, the Broadwayis a large nightclub that hosts very well known DJs.

Llandudno can definitely be considered a Gay-friendly city.

Safety

Llandudno is considered a safe city, but like any medium-sized city it can have some problems, most of which are related to nightlife, although thanks to the work of the police these problems have been considerably reduced.

The areas tourists should avoid are:

  • The area around and behind the ASDA supermarket, opposite Parc Llandudno;
  • The common area behind Llandudno Rugby Club;
  • Part of the West Shore, especially King's Road;
  • The area around the hospital;

Respect

The local population has become accustomed to the huge influx of tourists, and generally has a welcoming and friendly attitude and aware of the economic return due to tourists.

During rugby or football matches it is good to remember that the local population is Welsh and not English and therefore will often cheer for the opposing team of theEngland.
