amounts is a small town south of the Danube, it is located in Upper Swabia.

background

Quantities lies in a wide valley of the Danube, which was already settled in the Bronze Age, as numerous finds show. The place was first mentioned in a document from the year 819. In 1276, Mengen received town charter. Until 1805, Mengen was one of the Danube cities, then the city became part of the Kingdom of Württemberg. The formerly independent towns of Ennetach, Beuren, Blochingen, Rosna and Rulfingen have been districts of Mengen since 1975.

Quantities was considered to be Carter town, as old trade routes crossed here. These led from Lake Constance to Ulm and from Alsace to Austria. With the construction of the railway around 1870, the carting trade lost its importance.

Neighboring municipalities of Mengen are Herbertingen, Hohentengen, Ostrach, Krauchenwies, Sigmaringendorf, Scheer and Altheim (near Riedlingen).
