Muszyna is a spa and winter sport in Poland. There are lifts and cable cars to the surrounding peaks, from which a beautiful view over the Beskydy Mountains to High Tatras results.
Muszyna was first mentioned in 1209 as a customs post on the trade route along the Poprad from Poland to Hungary. In 1288 the place was given to the Cracow Bequeathed to bishops. However, the Polish crown took over Muszyna from the church at the beginning of the 14th century. In 1301 the Gothic royal castle was built in the village. By royal decree, the place received city rights in 1356. In 1391 an amicable agreement was reached between the crown and the church, according to which the city returned to episcopal ownership. Ruthenians and Wallachians were settled here in the 15th century. With the first partition of Poland, Muszyna came to the Habsburgs in 1772 and in 1781 the town was transferred to the state by the bishops. In 1876 the place was connected to the railway network. After the First and Second World War, the place became Polish again.
