Nut hole is a community in Rhine-Neckar area. It is on the southern one Mountain road between the Rhine plain and the Little Odenwald. The village of Maisbach, incorporated in 1938, belongs to the municipality of Nussloch.

Traces of settlement indicate that as early as 300 BC. people had settled in the vicinity of Nussloch. The place Nussloch was first mentioned in a document in 766. In the 13th century the place came under the rule of the Electoral Palatinate. In the period that followed, Nussloch repeatedly got into armed conflicts, to be named the Thirty Years War and the Palatinate War of Succession. After the electoral Palatinate was dissolved in 1803, Nussloch came under the rule of the Grand Duchy of Baden.

  • A special feature is the material ropeway from the company. HeidelbergCementwho have been transporting limestone from the quarry over a distance of 5.6 km from Nussloch to the cement works in Leimen with a total of 250 lorries since 1918.
