Obersiebenbrunn is a market town in Marchfeld.

The name Obersiebenbrunn is derived from the "seven" (= many) sources of the Stempfelbach (cf. also Untersiebenbrunn). In Obersiebenbrunn, the Obersiebenbrunn Canal, which is part of the Marchfeld Canal, supplies the Stempfelbach with water from the Danube in order to ensure that the Marchfeld, which is used intensively for agriculture, is irrigated.
