Oedelsheim is a village in Weser Uplands. Politically, Oedelsheim belongs to the municipality Upper Weser.
background
The north Hessian Oedelsheim is a resort and, due to its location directly on the Weser and far from noisy streets or industries, the destination of vacationers looking for peace and quiet and numerous cyclists passing through on the Weser cycle path and water hikers on the Weser. At the German fairy tale route the place represents the fairy tale of Puss in Boots, which can be viewed as a man-sized wooden figure next to the village museum.

The Gierseil FerryPuss in Boots only crosses Fri - Sun from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. between Oedelsheim and the opposite Gottstreu and is therefore mainly used by tourists and Weser cyclists.
Water hikers on the Weser find rest and overnight facilities in Oedelsheim. There is a pier with a slipway at the campsite at Weser kilometer 25.5.
