The Peitzer Land (Lower Sorbian: Picański kraj) is the area surrounding the fortress city Peitz north of Cottbus on the eastern edge of the Lieberoser Heide. In the north and west there are extensive forest areas, in the south and east charming fields and meadows.

- Drachhausen (Lower Sorbian: Hochoza) and Drehnow (Lower Sorbian: Drjenov) and Turnow (Lower Sorbian: Turnow) are to the west of the area.
- Preilack (Lower Sorbian: Psiluk) and Dew (Lower Sorbian: Turjej) as well as the remote Schönhöhe are north of the city of Peitz.
- Peitz (Lower Sorbian: Picnjo) forms the center of the small region.

Tourist Attractions
- 1 Holländermühle Turnow. Tel.: 49(0)35601-31670. The mill from 1860 is on the Galgenberg between Turnow, Peitz and Drehnow. It was converted to an electric drive as early as 1930 and therefore no longer has any wings. Guided tours through the miller are possible after prior registration by telephone.
- Local history museum Tauer, Main street 88, 03185 Tauer. Tel.: 49(0)35601-82366. The small museum is located in the village's former bakery, whose old oven is still in working order.Open: Mo-Fr: 09: 00-12: 00, 15: 00-16: 00 (and after telephone registration).
- Local museum "Kólasko" Drachhausen, Dorfst. 40. Tel.: 49(0)35609-70783. The Wendish word Kólasko means spinning wheel. It was mainly used in the region to make linen fabrics. The museum gives an insight into the history of the village.
- Tauer village church. The baroque church dates from 1859.
- Tauer fire station. The historic fire station was built in 1896 and has a clock tower.
- Drachhausen village church. The Drachhausen church is from the years 1894/95 and still has the original interior.

- 2 Großsee. The large lake north of the town of Peitz with its large sandy beach and campsite promises local recreation. On the main road towards Guben, it goes through the villages of Preilack and Tauer. Then a road turns left that leads to the lake in the forest with the small district of Schönhöhe.
