Pescasseroli is a city of Marsica, subregion ofAbruzzo.

To know

The town is considered the capital of National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise. Here is the central administrative office of the park authority. An important ski resort is located on the nearby Monte delle Vitelle (1966 meters above sea level). In the Middle Ages, the pastoral path of transhumance developed from the Abruzzo mountains to the Tavoliere delle Puglie, along the Pescasseroli sheep track.Candle, the third longest in southern Italy, already existing in the imperial era. Here was born in 1866 Benedetto Croce, a well-known Italian philosopher, historian, politician, literary critic and writer.

Pescasseroli can be reached from Marsica fucense (exit of Pescina of the A25 motorway) and from the lower Sangro through the state road 83 Marsicana which crosses the Abruzzo national park.
